Artist: City Lights

Song: Trophy Room

Album: In It To Win It

Year: 2011

Genre: Pop/Punk

Great Pop Punk right here, and I think this is my second post of them. If you have not heard of them, then you are missing out big time! One of my favorite pop punk bands currently, up there with TSSF and Close Only Counts (check those bands out too). Excellent album, excellent production, and your classic pop punk lyrics with hard-hitting music. Doesn’t get any better, right? I would say this is definitely for fans of New Found Glory, but if you like Pop Punk at all then I have no doubt you’ll dig these guys! This song, and Lawnmower are probably my favorites from this album, but don’t let that deter from giving all of their songs a listen. This album is definitely “all killer, no filler.”

Enjoy!

Artist: I the Mighty

Song: The Dreamer

Album: Karma Never Sleeps EP

Year: 2012

Genre: Progressive/Rock

One of the best bands out there right now, that’s for damn sure. The singer’s got pipes, and the the instruments are played phenomenally well in this band. Really fun, bouncy, and positive prog-rock. If you’re into bands like Closure In Moscow and At The Drive-In then you definitely need to give these guys a listen. This is definitely one of my favorite release so far this year! You need this EP on your Summer playlist, really good to sing along with, especially with friends! Goodness this guy can sing, the riffs are perfect, and the drumming is solid. On top of that they throw in a lot of odds and ends you wouldn’t expect from this style of music. It’s like progressive rock meets post hardcore. They remind me a bit of At The Drive-In, which is obviously awesome. Superior musicianship here, and I cannot wait until I get to see these guys live! I hope this band goes far! Visit their page, like them, and go buy this new album! Not trying to pay for the music? Go visit their bandcamp and you can get their last release fo’ free!

Artist: Jodie Marie

Song: I Got You

Album: Mountain Echo

Year: 2012

Genre: Rock/Pop/Acoustic

Lovin’ this new release by Jodie Marie. This song in particular reminds me of older music, which is great! If you’re into females doing rock at all, then you need to click the play button, you won’t be dissapointed! She’s got a soothing, yet really energetic voice that is complimented by great instrumentals. Her voice though, goodness. You’ll just have to click. I wish this song was longer, haha.

Enjoy!

Fun. - Why Am I The One

Album: Some Nights

Year: 2012

Genre: Indie/Rock/Pop

This band creates some of the most catchy and original stuff ever. They remind me somewhat of The Beatles and Queen, does anybody else here that? Funny thing is, is that I don’t care for The Beatles or Queen, though I do recognize what they’ve done for the music industry. The Beatles is one of the best bands of all time, but I still don’t listen to them, haha. ANYWAY! If you’re into The Beatles, check this great band out, and if not, then still check them out. They make super catchy, original, and uplifting music. You won’t regret listening, I can almost promise that!

Enjoy!

P.S. Did I mention how catchy they are? Some of the best choruses ever, right here, right now.

Boy - Waitress

Album: Mutual Friends

Year: 2011

Genre: Indie/Acoustic/Folk/Pop

I am in love with this song! These two girls know how to make some good music, and I think they could take their music really far, especially as radio-friendly it is. Don’t let that deter you folks who are against the mainstream stuff though! This is just some really solid folky-pop, that I think a whole lot of you would love, so don’t miss out! Click to play!

Enjoy!

Beach House - Norway

Album: Teen Dream

Year: 2009

Genre: Indie/Shoegaze/Dream Pop

One of the most strange music videos ever, hahaha, but it really fits, and it is fan-made! Woo! The official one is sub-par in my opinion, and does not do this song justice.

One of my favorite bands ever. I remember that as soon almost as soon as I heard them I went and picked up their album from Best Buy, which by the way wasn’t even on the floor. Yupp, had to go grab it from the back. I was upset when I could not find it, haha. Anyway, this is some really good material right here. I would go as far to say that they are one of the best bands in this genre of all time. The singer has such a profoundly unique voice that, well, you need to hear for yourself. The instrumentals are really, really, really simple, but really, really, really good, haha. I don’t mean like mainstream music simple, but you’ll know what I mean when you listen! If you have not heard of them before, then you need to click play right now. They are perfect for pondering, haha.

Mansion On The Moon - Desert Island

Album: Lightyears Ep

Year: 2012

Genre: Electropop/Shoegaze/Indie

Such an amazing release from an amazing group. If you like any sort of shoegaze or electronic pop then check this out. Fans of The Postal Service would probably eat this up to. Awesome reverb and effects of simple and sweet instruments and vocals. Love it. I find this music easy to dream to.

I wanted to have this as an audio post since people are more inclined to share it that way, but the file is too large to upload. Seriously reblog this if you dig it.

Enjoy!
