Artist: This Mouth Is An Ashtray

Song: Mother, I’ve Been Tired

Album: Shibboleth

Year: 2012

Genre: Indie/Folk

This musician messaged me awhile ago, but I am only getting around to it now, because I’ve been on the Xbox. Anyway, TMIAA was quite a pleasant surprise! Indie Folk with a touch of bluegrass makes for music something along the lines of Grizzly Bear, so if you’re into Grizzly Bear then you’re going to want to check this guy out. His voice reminds especially of someone else, but I still cannot think of who it is! Either way, you should support this guy, and purchase Shibboleth. It’s only a four track album, which is more-or-less a demo, but you get to name your price! Everything counts for musicians these days! I’m not going to say only throw this guy a quarter, but if that’s all you got then I’m sure he wouldn’t mind. These tracks are perfect for the up and coming summer nights with your friends and a campfire (hopefully it won’t be hot as fuuu- this Summer). This Mouth Is An Ashtray is delivering some fresh Indie Folk this summer, so definitely click for more and visit his bandcamp to grab yourself “Shibboleth!”

Artist: Jodie Marie

Song: I Got You

Album: Mountain Echo

Year: 2012

Genre: Rock/Pop/Acoustic

Lovin’ this new release by Jodie Marie. This song in particular reminds me of older music, which is great! If you’re into females doing rock at all, then you need to click the play button, you won’t be dissapointed! She’s got a soothing, yet really energetic voice that is complimented by great instrumentals. Her voice though, goodness. You’ll just have to click. I wish this song was longer, haha.

Enjoy!

Boy - Waitress

Album: Mutual Friends

Year: 2011

Genre: Indie/Acoustic/Folk/Pop

I am in love with this song! These two girls know how to make some good music, and I think they could take their music really far, especially as radio-friendly it is. Don’t let that deter you folks who are against the mainstream stuff though! This is just some really solid folky-pop, that I think a whole lot of you would love, so don’t miss out! Click to play!

Enjoy!

U.S.Royalty - Monte Carlo

Album: MIЯRORS

Year: 2011

Genre: Indie/Rock

Sweet, sweet band here. Perfect blend of indie and rock with a Fleetwood Mac kind of feel. Awesome stuff! This is my second U.S. Royalty post, and I hope I can land them some more fans with this one! If you have not checked this band out yet, then now is your chance. You REALLY need to get down on this, they deserve a spot in your Spring and Summer playlist!

Bibio - Ambivalence Avenue

Album: S/T

Year: 2009

Genre: His style varies a lot in all of his songs, everything from Acoustic, Folk, and Funk to Electronic and so forth.

I found out about Bibio a very, very long time ago, when the folks at Urban Outfitters stuck a sticker sheet for various musicians in my bag. There was some pretty good stuff on there, but Bibio was one of the only ones that really stuck out, haha. He’s a solid producer who dabbles in all sorts of avant garde stuff. Also, Adult Swim no jams his stuff out on a couple of there bumps, so that’s cool, haha. Really sweet stuff here, so I hope you all like it!

Enjoy!

The Republic Of Wolves - Home

Album: The Cartographer

Year: 2011

Genre: Indie/Rock

This a pretty damn phenomenal band right here. Really top-notch musicianship, superb lyrics, and touches of folk put this band in my top fifteen. These guys are really good, I can’t even really put together the words to really describe them. Oh yeah, their drummer screams occasionally which is a really nice touch. AH. Band is amazing man.

One of the best indie folk bands I have ever heard, ever, they’re local too! I know there are plenty indie folk bands out there, but Bison really stands out amongst them. If you check this out, you won’t regret it, seriously. Do yourself a favor and click play!

U.S.Royalty - Equestrian

Album: Mirrors

Year: 2011

Genre: Indie/Rock

This band obviously consists of a bunch of bronies, haha, but on a serious note this band is one of the best out there right now, and this is my favorite song by them. They have a subtle folk influence which really adds flavor to their sound. You need to listen to this and put it in your summer playlist! Road trip stuff, right?

Enjoy!

This band is AMAZING! Can’t even think of the right words to describe them, just do yourself a favor and give this track a listen. I love that toy piano they use in it. Ah! Such good stuff!
